Ultra Silk® Film

Ultra silk is a soft, dull, luxurious finish that gives the business cards a muted, silk-like look and feel. Ultra silk feels like elegant paper but is actually a premium plastic film, a dull thin film laminate that's applied to both sides of the business cards. Ultra silk film is water and tear resistant (not proof), it is also used to protect the colors (especially dark colors) from rubbing off the edge of the paper. Ultra silk film will make the final business card thicker. Example: Stock + ultra silk film lamination will produce a 19pt business card.

Velvet Film

Velvet is a soft, dull, luxurious finish that gives the business cards a muted, velvet-like look and feel (feels similar to peach skin). Velvet feels like elegant paper but is actually a premium plastic film, a dull thin film laminate that's applied to both sides of the business cards. Velvet film is tear resistant (not proof), it is also used to protect the colors (especially dark colors) from rubbing off the edge of the paper. Velvet film will make the final business card thicker. Example: Stock + velvet film lamination will produce a 19pt business card.

Soft touch is a soft to the touch, luxurious finish that gives the business cards a soft, supple look and feel, which softens colors, reduces contrast and gives an overall lighter, muted appearance. Soft touch feels like elegant paper but is actually a premium plastic film, a dull thin film laminate that's applied to both sides of the business cards. Soft touch film is tear resistant (not proof), it is also used to protect the colors (especially dark colors) from rubbing off the edge of the paper. Soft touch film will make the final business card thicker. Example: Stock + soft touch film lamination will produce a 19pt business card.

Suede has a luxurious finish that gives the business cards a muted, suede-like look and feel. Suede feels like elegant paper but is actually a premium plastic film, a dull thin film laminate that's applied to both sides of the business cards. Spot gloss is a glossy coating that is only applied to a specific section of the business card. The selected area is singled out and coated with a glossy finish while the rest remains matte. The goal of this process is to give your card some contrast by highlighting both the muted film and the spot gloss. You have the option of adding the spot gloss to any area of the card, for example over a logo, a certain section of a graphic, or even as an elaborate pattern.

Register Emboss

Embossing is a process where pressure from a press along with metal dies are used to add a three-dimensional or raised effect on selected areas of a business card. Embossing can be used different ways: (1) Blind emboss, so that the image is raised but not inked/foiled. (2) Register emboss, so that the image is raised and also inked/foiled.

Embossing on 32pt stock requires the printing of two 16pt business cards. The first "top" business card is embossed and machined glued to the second "bottom" business card. This layering process is permanent and will produce a total paper thickness of: 16pt + 16pt = 32pt stock.

Die cutting is a process where a steel die along with pressure from a hydraulic or mechanical press is used to cut out a specific shape from a business card. The die is a shaped steel blade used to punch out “Die Cut” the desired shape. We can create just about any exterior standard shape.

Laser cutting is a process where a laser is used to cut out a specific shape from a business card. Laser cutting is the correct option for precise, intricate, shapes, and cuts. 

Layer Laser Cut

Layer laser cutting is a process where a laser is used to cut out a specific shape from the top layer of a business card. Laser cutting is the correct option for precise, intricate, shapes, and cuts.

Note: Laser cutting requires the printing of two 16pt business cards. The first "top" business card is laser cut and machined glued to the second "bottom" business card. This layering process is permanent and will produce a total paper thickness of: 16pt + 16pt = 32pt stock. (Option only available on 32pt stock)

Select from over 40 edge colors (including metallics & fluorescents). Note: For best results, select a color with contrast. We recommend an edge color that is lighter or darker than the background color in your design.
